consumer awareness resources (C.a.r.e.)

The ANA's C.A.R.E. program was established to help make the industry safe for collectors and investors. We achieve this goal by arming both members and non-members with knowledge through our many educational resources, fraud alerts and awareness outreach projects and by serving as an advocate to the public through our loss alert/reward program, mediation services and partnerships with local, national and federal law enforcement agencies.

An educated numismatic community is the best defense against fraud; we encourage everyone who loves the hobby to take the time to increase their awareness.

Major Case On Chinese and Cypriot Coins Should Be Heard

September 28, 2017.  IMPORTANT ANTIQUE COIN COLLECTORS GUILD CASE IS FULLY BRIEFED: COULD IMPACT WIDER ART TRADE

The Ancient Coin Collectors Guild has asked the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit to overturn a lower court decision that allowed significant overreach by US government agencies.

The Guild filed a reply brief  in the ongoing forfeiture action concerning two lots of relatively low value Cypriot and Chinese coins that the Guild imported for purposes of its test case.

The appellate case is the United States v. Ancient Coin Collectors Guild, 17-1625.
