Nei Xue Tang

Nei Xue Tang is the first House Museum endorsed by the National Heritage Board. This pre-war architectural attraction is where an inner chamber of peace and beauty prevails.Here, you will be able to view rare valuables and precious Buddhist artifacts from Afghanistan, Japan, Tibet, China, India and many others. Peranakan Museum

The Peranakan Museum encapsulates the world of the Baba Nyonya, Straits Chinese who lived in Singapore, Malacca and Penang, and created a fusion culture merging Chinese and local elements. At the Peranakan Museum, one can learn about all the Peranakan communities, from the three aforementioned cities as well as in other cities in Southeast Asia.

The Peranakan Museum of Singapore officially opened to the public on 26 April, 2008, after lengthy renovation and preparation work starting at the end of 2005. The building in which it is housed is the former Tao Nan School, which used to house the Asian Civilisations Museum, before it moved to its present located at the Empress Place Building. The Asian Civilisations Museum is the parent of the Peranakan Museum.

Red Dot Design Museum

The Red Dot Museum on Maxwell Road is the 2nd instalment of such a museum. The first was established in Germany in 1955. The name is pretty self explanatory with most of the museum, as well as its logo being red. But what does ‘Red Dot' truly stand for?

To be part of Red Dot is a triumph in itself because it signifies outstanding achievement in design and business. It is an internationally recognized label that stands for excellence. The Red Dot awards are presented annually and qualification is based on the standard of selection and presentation. A jury of experts in the area of design, concept design and communication design will then select outstanding designs for the international ‘Red Dot Design Award'.

Republic of Singapore Air Force Museum

For military and aviation buffs, the Republic of Singapore Air Force Museum is a must-see. Spread over 10,600 square metres of land, the museum comprises an outdoor gallery and two levels of indoor galleries. Besides tracing the development of the Republic of Singapore Air Force from its early days as the Royal Air Force in 1927, the museum also provides information on the history of aviation and showcases aviation-related artifacts such as colonial cap badges and Bloodhound missiles, even planes like the Hunter Hawker, the SF260 Marchetti and the A4-S Skyhawk.

Republic of Singapore Navy Museum

Royal Selangor Pewter Museum

Pewter, an alloy combining tin, copper and antimony, is a speciality of Southeast Asia – commonly made into decorative and functional objects, with a fine attention to detail. At the Royal Selangor Pewter Museum, you will be treated to a private collection of 75 items ranging from tobacco boxes, oil lamps, intricate Chinese lanterns with lotus motifs to century-old pewter-making tools. The museum also features daily demonstrations of traditional pewter processes.

SGH Museum

Housed in the historic Bowyer Block Clock Tower, The SGH Museum occupies the only block out of three blocks opened as the General Hospital in 1926.Preserved and restored to its former grandeur and beauty, the museum is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technology. Singapore Art Museum

The largest public collection of 20th century Singapore and Southeast Asian art in the world.

Housed in a restored 19th century mission school, the Singapore art Museum (SAM) owns the largest public collection of over 7,500 20th century Singapore and Southeast Asian artworks in the world.

They include works by Singapore pioneer artists such as Liu Kang, Georgette Chen and Chen Wen His, as well as Southeast Asian masters of modern and contemporary art. You can also enjoy the occsional blockbuster show.
