Challenge Mode is a special game mode in Co-op Campaign.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In Challenge Mode, a unique challenge can be attempted by players to earn a lot of Challenge Coins. The challenge changes at the end of every week. Each challenge takes place in a random chapter and gameplay is altered with different preset rules.

Mutators[edit | edit source]

Mutators are the rule modifiers that shake up gameplay in a variety of different ways. In Challenge Mode, three predetermined mutators are chosen to direct how the challenge is played.

Difficulties & Rewards[edit | edit source]

Similar to Horde Mode, there are only two difficulty levels to choose from: Normal and Hard.

Despite what difficulties have been listed, each difficulty level plays like the one above it. This means that playing on normal actually means playing on hard difficulty, and playing on hard means playing on insane difficulty. To better prepare yourself for Challenge Mode, play a few rounds of hard difficulty and insane difficulty respectively to better understand the true intensity of each difficulty level.

Depending on the selected difficulty, the rewards you earn upon completion of the challenge will be different. Completing the Challenge Mode on normal difficulty first will automatically deduct 100 Challenge Coins from the completion of the challenge on hard difficulty. This means the typical amount of Challenge Coins earned through the mode is 350 Challenge Coins.

Virus Sample Rewards[edit | edit source]

Collecting Virus Samples in Challenge Mode will reward players with the same bonuses as the regular campaigns on completion.
